Josué da Ponte is married to Isabel Cristina and has three children, Josias, Daniel, and Miriam. A graduate of the Assemblies of God Bible Institute, he was a missionary in the Lower Alentejo region, where he planted churches in Pias, Serpa, Cuba, and Ferreira do Alentejo, and served in the revitalization of the Assemblies of God in Évora. He is the founder of the Jesus é a Resposta ministry, a ministry supporting missionaries and evangelizing the interior of the country. He was a professor of Evangelical Religious and Moral Education in Serpa. Currently, he is the senior pastor of the Assemblies of God in Lisbon, president of the Greater Lisbon region of the Assemblies of God, vice-president of the Jesus é a Resposta Ministry, and Executive Director of the Intercultural Evangelical Mission (MEVIC).
